Training for these students often involves attending masterclasses conducted by invited guest artists, performances in concerts and taking part in music competitions.
Students who wish to be considered for this course must have attained at least a Merit (Practical) at Grade 4 before the age of 8. Completion of ABRSM Grade 8 is expected between the ages of 10 to 12 and the Licentiate diploma in Piano Performance is usually attained between the ages of 15 to 18. |
Performance classes
Performance classes are held regularly at the studio. Students are scheduled to make appearances to perform learnt works in an informal setting. A vital training ground towards exams, concerts and competitions, all students are encouraged and trained to participate. Specific groups are organized for different levels and ages.
Modelled on European music conservatory training styles, performance classes help monitor and assess students' progress at each stage of their study. Though the experience is daunting for some, many of our young pianists grow up into confident and high achieving young adults.
