Gifted Music Programme JKMS has its gifted programme for talented and advanced students. Compared to mainstream students, more vigorous training takes place for students in the GMP with higher expectations and challenging tasks set in place. These students are selected based on their progress, age and performance abilities. GMP students do not have special identities within the studio itself. This allows teachers and students to have the flexibility of being in or out of the programme. Training for gifted students often involves attending more lessons, masterclasses conducted by invited guest artists, performances in concerts and taking part in music competitions. Students who wish to be considered for this course must have attained at least a Merit (Practical) at Grade 4 before the age of 9. Completion of grade 8 is expected to be by 12 and the Licentiate diploma in Performance by 18. |
