Audition Requirements and How to Apply
All students who intend to enrol at JKPA for practical lessons need to apply through a scheduled audition and interview. At graded levels, students are admitted based on their aptitude and potential for development. They are expected to perform 2 own choice pieces which reflect their standard of playing. The usual admission period is between September to December for the following academic year. Placement of students is subjected to age, level of study and availability at the school.
Diploma students applying to study at 1st level need to apply with a minimum qualification of a pass with merit at Grade 8. Two contrasting pieces which demonstrate technical and musical proficiency appropriate to the level are required at the audition. For all levels, auditions are conducted throughout the year based on availability of places.
